Music NL Awards 2023: Celebrating Newfoundland’s Top Musicians & Winners

The music scene in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, is buzzing with excitement as Music NL celebrates the region’s top musical talents! But who took home the coveted awards? Let’s find out!

Music NL’s Awards Night:
Music NL’s awards ceremony was a star-studded event, honoring the hard work and creativity of local musicians. The night was a culmination of a week-long celebration of music, featuring performances across the city.

The Big Winners:
Justin Fancy stole the show, winning the Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year award. He expressed his love for the local music community and the joy of performing across the province.
Kelly McMichael dominated with the Album of the Year award for ‘After The Sting Of It’ and was also named Alternative Artist of the Year.
Mallory Johnson, a rising country star, received the Country Artist of the Year award.
Nick Earle & The Reckless Hearts rocked the stage and won Group of the Year, as well as Rock Artist of the Year.
Deantha Edmunds showcased her versatility, claiming both Classical Artist of the Year and Indigenous Artist of the Year.
XIA-3 proved their global appeal, winning Global Music Artist of the Year and Instrumental Artist of the Year.
Quote the Raven won Folk Artist of the Year, with their music video ‘Already Gone’ also taking home the Music Video of the Year award.
